Some Recent Reviews And Mentions
While it certainly retains the pop sensibilities of the first record, it’s clear that the band has grown in the past four years. Arrangements are more intricate and while at the start it seems a rather restrained affair, the song eventually cuts loose in the second half and the manic energy that popped up on the first record appears once again.
Whenever I hear something from this band I get the impression they aren’t exactly sure about which parts of indie pop they like the most, so they throw them all in at the same time. Only, instead of sounding like a cluttered mess, they still end up creating gems like this one, which is spectacularly simple and as easy to love as anything else you’ll come across all year. Not sure if it gets better than this.
